About Lorna Buchan

Acting in the public interest has been a lifetime work.

From early days at school and University in Dundee, Scotland to a working career in criminal justice and legal firms in Edinburgh I have been committed to a career serving the public. Currently working as a forensic auditor in State Government in Perth I know what passes for acceptable and value for money spending of our rates in Rockingham.

As an approachable Councillor I hear and respond to residents concerns and am always working to resolve individuals issues.  My open communication style makes me a "go to" person for getting the job done.​

My strong leadership means I do not shy away from the difficult decisions or conversations to fight for a better deal for ratepayers.  I know how difficult it is to make ends meet so a careful watch over how my rates were being spent made me want to run for Council in 2019.  I do not want my rates being spent on junkets or wasted on extravagance so I'm putting my hand up to work for you as Mayor.
